Profile link on front page...? was created by Satchi
Hello - I hope this is something I have overlooked. CB is so powerful, my brain is getting mushy. lol

Issue

I have the profile published and public, as mandatory. It is linked on our 'home' page.

This makes it display for unregistered users. <-- That is what I want to stop.

We don't want to hide it from the members of our site. It has to live on the main menu.

Possible to hide from guests but not members?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or info,

Satchi

The menu item just needs to exist. It does not have to be visible. The best way to do this is to create a Hidden menutype, add your public menu item to it, and just don't publish its module. CB should've done this for you on install under the Community Builder menutype. Next you'd just make your existing menu item Registered and now you've one public and registered as needed.

Ok. I'll do it that way.

For some reason I thought having two copies of that menu was an additional load or issue. No idea why that was stuck in my brain. (blush)

Thank you for the reply!

Nope, you can have as many as you want as long as one is public. The public one can be completely hidden and still work as it's just needed for its Itemid and thus its menu item access check, which is done by Joomla. Without a public menu item you can end up with some odd results with various plugins or even registration for example not working for new users due to menu access blocking it.
