cb activity search links was created by softwareprofi
Hello,

I have installed the cb activity plugin 3.0.0 rc4 (Joomla 3.4.3, cb 2.10). The installation was ok but there is the following error:

If I want to edit an activity the search links are not working. For example, I want to insert a smiley, I cannot choose the smiley, because the search link is inactive (see attachment). The same error appears at the other functions like location etc. The search link is always inactive. I tried at location to insert "Hamburg" and click then the search link, no function, I pushed the return button, no function. In the backend, all functions of cb activity are enabled.

Can you please help.

Thank you very much.

There is no searching for any of those dropdowns. I've no idea how or why you're seeing that. Was CB Activity modified? CB Activity has no search functionality beyond hashtags.

Hi Kyle,

thank you for your answer.
No, I have not modified CB activity. I installed it as an update from the previous version. The installation process went good, there were no errors.

If there is no search funtionality, how can I insert a smiley, there ist no list, where I can choose a smiley. How can I insert a location, there ist only the input field, but if I insert a location (f.e. Hamburg) there is no reaction. I have no functionality at all the buttons (smiley, location, ...). after clicking, only the input field opens, but without functionality.

Greetings.
Dieter

There's no button for inserting smilies. You use the web standard format of . There's also a feature ticket for a button to help with smiley inserting, but that won't be until 4.0.0 and will not be in 3.0.0 stable.

If the location map button (far right of address input) doesn't work then your browser doesn't support geolocation or you didn't give it permission. In that case you fill out the inputs as they've asked; first the location then type the address. I'm not sure what you're expecting the buttons to do when they're open.

When you click the smiley it opens an action list (e.g. Feeling, Watching, Reading).. you select which you're doing then describe that action with the input (e.g. great!); there's a smiley input to the right where you can select the emoji for the action if you want.

Note each of those buttons have a tooltip to hint at their behavior on hover. Each input has a placeholder text to describe what it wants you to supply.

All of this is designed after to be same or similar to Facebook and Google+ functionality so it'd be familiar. If you're not big on social networking streams then it may or may not make much sense and will take some time to get accustomed to.

Hi Kyle,

perhaps I described it wrong, sorry. So I will take the smiley example.

You wrote:

If I click the smiley button, there is no action list. There is only an input field like the screenshot at the first post. So what went wrong and what can I do to get the action list after clicking the smiley button.

Thanks.

Dieter

There's no code in place to do that. The filtering is completely disabled for that select2 usage. My guess is you have something installed that's conflicting with CBs select2. The below is what it looks like in all my tests across multiple installs.
