[SOLVED] Cannot create Blog b/c Category is missing in K2 model or Joomla model

9 years 3 months ago - 9 years 3 months ago #268194 by rolandfrancis
Using CB Blogs v 2.0.10 user cannot create a blog article in Joomla model nor in K2 model. Although in Blog plugin -> Parameters -> Blogs and in Parameters -> Defaults the Category has been set to one and the same category (Joomla category for joomla and K2 category for K2)

When the user logs in and clicks on the "New Blog" button in his profile, the create blog page loads fine, but shows an empty selectbox for "Category" and therefor ==> user is unable to save article.

You need to create a parent category, which will contain all the blog categories. Next add child categories to it. So your Joomla or K2 category usage should be as follows for example.

Blogs (parent category)
- Videos
- Games
- Sports
- Movies

In CB Blogs > Parameters you'd select Blogs as the parent category. Access permissions are still checked as well so the user needs to be able to access the category and it needs to be published.
