how do fields store in Tabs? was created by critski
I have 3 fields in a tab STATE (dropdown); card number (text) and expiry date (date). Are these stored as a record or are they just individual fields. Do I need to create new fields for card number and expiry date for each STATE? IF I reuse a field in the same Tab will it overwrite the previous entry.

They're stored in _comprofiler with the users database row as a column with the name of the field. If you need more you'll have to create more. A field isn't re-usable in the sense that you make it once and have say 5 of it. I don't see why you'd need to make fields for each state though as your state is a dropdown, which the user can just change as needed unless you're expecting them to supply multiple card numbers.

Hi kyle,
Each person could have a card for each state and each card number would be different as would expiry date. I think I'll just label each field as card_1_state, card_1_number etc. I would only have 6 cards in total so I think that should keep the information together when trying to format for email reminders etc.

Ok, in that case you'll need multiple same fields.

I think I'll just label each field as card_1_state, card_1_number etc

Yup, that'd be what you have to do.
