Google Sign in had been working for my site and suddenly stopped. Users trying to sign in or link their google accounts now receive the following error instead:

danger
HTTP error 403. Raw Provider API response: { "error": { "errors": [ { "domain": "usageLimits", "reason": "accessNotConfigured", "message": "Access Not Configured. The API (Google+ API) is not enabled for your project. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your configuration.", "extendedHelp": " console.developers.google.com " } ], "code": 403, "message": "Access Not Configured. The API (Google+ API) is not enabled for your project. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your configuration." } } .

I've checked my CB settings with the tutorial on this site and checked and double checked my developers console on Google and everything looks correct. Any suggestions? I really need a solution for this.

Thank you,

The error tells you exactly what's wrong. You didn't enable the Google+ API. Please follow the steps in the below tutorial exactly.

But I DID enable the Google API and it WAS working just fine for weeks. It stopped working one day and started displaying this error instead. I've communicated with Google DEV and they assure me all is well on my Console settings. Please help!

That error is coming directly from Google. It is not coming from CB Connect. It's the API response from Google when requesting either profile data or token exchange. The issue is directly with your Google application. Google API response is saying that Google+ API has not been enabled.

Navigate to Google developers console then APIs & auth > APIs and click "Enabled APIs" at the top of the page and ensure Google+ API is listed there. If it is already properly enabled then ensure you've correctly copied the client id and client secret to CB Connect > Parameters > Google > Application. You can also try generating a new secret and copying the new secret over to see if that'll help. If still not working try disabling Google+ API, re-enable it, wait about 5 minutes, then retry.

I made a new Google+ API, replaced the old settings with new on my CB site and it works again. We'll see if this works for longer than a few weeks.

I do agree that this seemed to be a Google issue and not a CB issue.
