Search with criteria from drop down list doesn't work

9 years 2 months ago - 9 years 2 months ago #268723 by gjvanwijk63
I created a drop down field from a table. All items are shown the right way. the name is 'occupation'

I made 'occupation' searchable and it shows up in the search list I created.

There are more drop down fields in this search list. F.i. the drop down field 'state'. The difference is that 'state' is filled with values from within the field settings, not from table content.

So 'occupation' is filled dynamicaly with a query and 'state' is filled with static values.

If I choose a value from 'state' and search, the results are shown in the list.

If I choose a value from 'occupation' it says (in the top position) '1 user' but the list stays empty.

I set the search criteria to the second option. (simple + any)

How can I solve this??

regards, Gert-Jan

I found out that the problem is related to the CB conditions settings.

If I choose 'ICT' from the occupations drop down, another list shows up with ICT functions. If I choose another value from occupations the ICT functions list is hidden.

I found out that if I choose ICT (and the ICT functions list is visible), the search results are shown in the list view. If the ICT functions is hidden (as a result from another value in the occupation drop drown) the're no search results (and there should be results).

SOLVED. I set the option 'Userlists View' in the field options to 'No'.

Conditions can be applied to userlists and the search inputs. If you make a search on a user row where the field has been conditioned away, but the search criteria does match it results in that row being hidden. This is normally avoided by leaving value resetting enabled so it resets the fields value to empty when the condition doesn't match during registration and profile edit so searching on them will exclude them from the SQL results entirely. Alternatively as you've discovered you can turn conditions off for userlists entirely.
