Backend Managers need access to CB User Manager, and nothing else. How to do this?

I was also looking to achieve something similar. I used this great extension called ACL Manager that may offer additional options.

Here are some areas I still have not quite figured out, even using ACL Manager.

1) How to allow a moderator access to reassign user to a different groups within CB. Right now, the only way is to allow the moderator access the Joomla's native User Manager.

2) Ability to "hide" higher level users from view in CB. I'm thinking this is near impossible.

Cheers!

CBs User Management shares permissions with Joomla user manager. So you'll need to give them permissions there.

2) Ability to "hide" higher level users from view in CB. I'm thinking this is near impossible.

They'll be able to see the higher access users, but they shouldn't be able to edit them.

Greetings...

Sorry it's been so long since I replied to this info. Thank you Krileon, for all of your advice throughout the years of using CB.

Having some difficulty getting the backend permissions correct to enable new user groups to not be able to see all of the Components, Modules, Plugin, etc, but only be able to add/modify Users in CB.

When I went into backend as SuperAdmin, go Community Builder > User Manager, then click Permissions and grant access for a specific user group, when I login with an account in that User Group, I only see the Joomla! 'Users' menu item, and not the CB User Manager.

We have a lot of specific fields for users in CB Plugins that are not available in the Joomla! 'Users' menu item in back end.

What may I be doing wrong?

How can I give a Manager access to add/modify Users in backend, and have that User not see any of the major configuration menu items?

Thank you,

J

CBs user management uses the same permissions as Joomlas. So as long as they're setup correctly to be able to manage Joomla users it should also work for CB. Note they need to have the CB global manage permission at least though, which is configured in CB > Configuration > Permissions as "Access Administration Interface".

Is it also possible to extend the moderator access to users and tools in CB? I don't want the moderator to be able to modify fields and tabs, but he must be able to sync users.

Yes, tools permission is modified in CB > Tools > Permissions. For additional permissions simply navigate to a backend view and click the Permissions button on the toolbar if available.
