Saw something on notifications for CB activity coming sometime...

is there an alternative for now to get some kind of notification when new stuff is posted inside the CB activity, even a simple thing would help tremendously already

Act on CB Activity triggers using CB Auto Actions to send an email, PM, or if you've an on-site notification extension it could be used to log a notification to that. At this time that's the only way until I've developed CB Notifications plugin, which probably won't be for awhile.

Nope, you can check Joomla.org extension directory to see if any are available.

just checking in on this as it would be realy useful to have this notification

till the point it is there would auto action or something like that work for

reply (PM or email) to post I have done (or anyone else)

and/or

send some kind of notification (email or PM) if someone is tagged inside the activity

that would help already tremendously

You can send a notification using CB Auto Actions acting on the create activity trigger. You can send a PM or Email as needed. There's also triggers for Commenting if you want to send a notification on comment for example. There are also triggers for tagging. All of which should be in the Triggers dropdown if you've latest CB Auto Actions nightly installed. For now notifications will not be built into CB Activity until later.
