[SOLVED] Some Issues with Translation was created by haidinh
Hi supporters,

I have some issues with translation that really need your help.

1. I installed CBConnect but cannot translate words "Link with facebook", "Sign in with facebook" into Vietnamese. I think that I already translated the strings into Vietnamese in the file: cbconnect-language.php in the language folder but it still does not work. Is there anything I need to do?

2. In Activity tab. I cannot find where to translate words like: "uploaded a photo", "published a new blog entry"... into Vietnamese. Can you tell me where I can find the strings? Please see some screenshots attached.

3. In configuration page, when I set registration requires admin approval. After admin approves an account, the new user will receive the following email in English but I cannot find where to translate this email into Vietnamese. Please help me.

Welcome Linh Nguyen,
Your application has been approved by our administration team.
Your account with the following details:
Email: linhnguyen726172@gmail.com
Name: Linh Nguyen
Username: linhnguyen
has been activated.
We welcome you to our online community and trust that together we will grow.
Enjoy the experience!
Kind Regards,
Website Administration Team

NOTE: This email was automatically generated from Congioilam! ( crafst.com ).

4. I also have another issue other than translation. The problem is that moderators cannot edit some blog entries of other users. Please note that moderators can still edit some blog entries but cannot edit others. When this error happens, the following notice appears:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@crafst.com to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I do not think it is a server error. Can you tell me how to solve that? I found in the internet somebody told that it is because of the .htaccess file. I attached herewith the .htaccess of my website so that you can have an look at it.

Thank you very for your support so far and looking forwards to hearing from you.

1. I installed CBConnect but cannot translate words "Link with facebook", "Sign in with facebook" into Vietnamese. I think that I already translated the strings into Vietnamese in the file: cbconnect-language.php in the language folder but it still does not work. Is there anything I need to do?

If you're using CB Connect 7.x the language strings have changed. The new language strings are not being compiled with language plugins at this time since it's just an early beta. You can find all the new strings in the language files below.

components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbconnect/language/default_language/language.php

2. In Activity tab. I cannot find where to translate words like: "uploaded a photo", "published a new blog entry"... into Vietnamese. Can you tell me where I can find the strings? Please see some screenshots attached.

That's the activity title, which is set by the CB Auto Actions system action for that activity. You need to manually add those translations to your CB language files. So for example you'd just translate the following.
Code:
'uploaded a photo' => 'uploaded a photo',

3. In configuration page, when I set registration requires admin approval. After admin approves an account, the new user will receive the following email in English but I cannot find where to translate this email into Vietnamese. Please help me.

If you're not using language strings for CB > Configuration > Registration Pending/Welcome emails you need to add language strings and translate your language strings or change those parameters directly to be hardcoded to your language.

4. I also have another issue other than translation. The problem is that moderators cannot edit some blog entries of other users. Please note that moderators can still edit some blog entries but cannot edit others. When this error happens, the following notice appears:

Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration then retest to see if any further error information is exposed.

Hi Krileon,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Regarding issue #2. I solved it.

Regarding issue #3 and 4. I need to check again more and may need your help again.

Regarding issue #1. I already translated the language file into Vietnamese. I even translated directly from file: plug_cbconnect/library/CBConnect.php into Vietnamese (Please see screenshot). But it still does not display Vietnamese. And there is a very strange thing happenning, when I change language (in language manager of Joomla) from Vietnamese into English, the Vietnamese words (Liên kết với facebook) appears, but when I change back from English into Vietnamese, the English words (Link with Facebook) appears. Can you help me to find out why? For the Vietnamese package, I translates myself and it works well on other cases.

Thank you and looking forwards to hearing from you.

You don't translate at the directory specified above. The files need to be copied to the below location and renamed as follows.

FROM:
components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbconnect/language/default_language/admin_language.php
components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbconnect/language/default_language/language.php
TO:
components/com_comprofiler/plugin/language/LANGUAGE/cbplugin/cbconnect-admin_language.php
components/com_comprofiler/plugin/language/LANGUAGE/cbplugin/cbconnect-language.php

Now you can translate them and their strings should work fine. Please also ensure you've latest CB nightly release below to ensure you've latest core CB fixes.
