I started looking at upgrading from Joomla 2.5 to 3 but as I looked into it further I realised it was a good opportunity to rebuild the website completely and make it more functional.
However, I would really like to move the users and their passwords to the new site.
Does anyone know how I could take the users from my Joomla 2.5 site and migrate them into my Joomla 3 site?
Joomla 2.x to 3.x is a relatively simple upgrade. You don't need to migrate or rebuild, but if you choose to rebuild you can move your user data using CB Juice. CB Juice just moves the user data though so fields, tabs, plugins, etc.. all need to be re-created or re-installed unless you copy over the _comprofiler tables directly.
