Cannot see author of articles intergrated with CBblogs

Hi supporters,

I have another issue need your help.

I set CBblogs in Joomla model. In Joomla, I set "Show Author" to "Show" and "Link Author" to "Yes". In Joomla view, a user can only see author displayed if it is his own article(blog). If it is other user article(blog), there is no author name displayed, there is only avatar image with no link.

Do you know why and can you tell me how to solve that?

Hi supporters,

I checked again and found out that a user can see author displayed if the article (blog) is written by Super User or users in his connection list.

Only Super User can see author displayed in all articles.

Hi Supporters,

I installed nightly built CB and found out that it is because of the template I am using.

When users sign in normally, there is no matter. Author is displayed with articles.

When users sign in by Twitter, there is no problem too. Author is displayed nicely.

But when users sign in by Facebook or Google, author is not displayed.

Do you have any idea why it is? I like the template very much and spend a lot of time to adjust many things. Except that problem, other things are compatible with CB so I do not want change the template.

CB doesn't have any control over that unless you installed the CB Author Bot. If you did then just ensure the formatname field is set to display on profile and is on a tab that's published and public. The tab can be in a not shown on profile position if you don't want it visible on profile though.

Hi Krileon,

I turn on all plugin and fields.

In fact if users are sign up in regular way or by Twitter, there is no problem. Only users sign up by Google or Facebook cause that problem. There must be something difference between Twitter and Google (and Facebook).

Also, I know the plugin in the template which make that happen, unluckily, that plugin is needed to load the template, so I cannot disable it. Do you have any idea which code in the plugin cause the problem? So I can try to change something?

I don't see how Google or Facebook registrations could cause this. They use the same API and registration process as Twitter. They both provide name and construct a username. Check their users within CB > User Management to ensure they've a name and username (they should as it won't let them register without one). If you're using CB Author Bot and you've privacy controls enabled for the formatname field then that could also be a cause, tab access for the tab the formatname field is on could be a cause, or even CB Conditional if you're conditioning the formatname field.
