when I click on Update your profile in front end. Cannot access users in backend either.

Does the canvas field exist within CB > Field Management? Does the canvas column exist in _comprofiler database table? Did you upgrade from CB 1.x? Have you ran the database tools within CB > Tools?

3rd time I've completely rebuilt this site from fresh installs of joomla and CB taking 1 month of my life.... Yes, canvas is in fields and in the DB. All the tools have been run.
Ensure CB Core within CB > Plugin Management is public and published. You could also have something installed that is likely altering or replacing the CB user object with something else. Disable non-core CB plugins 1 by 1 to see if issue resolves. If not then repeat with 3rd party Joomla user and system plugins. If issue persists please PM backend super administrator login credentials and will take a look.
