Login redirect

Login redirect was created by PeterNagel
Hi all

I am trying to create a redirect after logging in. The problem is that the login module / CB login takes priority over any CB Auto Action trigger relating to login, or so it seems. What I want to accomplish is simply that after logging in the user is redirect to the previous page. I tried to create a redirect with CB Auto Action using goback1, but what happens is the user is redirected to the home page, but the CB Auto action message is displayed.

Your assistance will be appreciated!

Thanks
Peter

You don't need anything special for that. Returning to previous location is already implemented. Please ensure you've latest CB 2.x nightly release. Next clear the login redirect URL in your CB login module and disable your CB Auto Action redirect actions. It should then return to the previous location find if either of the conditions is met.

A ) Login Module used on the page they want to return to
or
B ) &return= is supplied (usually always the case if Joomla menu access permission redirects to login)

Thanks for the swift reply

I have done just that, but the sign in is still redirected to the home page. I will try to add the login module on the page that should be redirected to and give feedback

Adding the login module to the page that it needs to redirect to does not required to return, it remains on the page...but to do that I have to add the login module to a page where it is not aesthetically appealing. Is there any other why to have it return to the desired page?

The only other option is whatever is doing the redirect to the login page needs to supply a &return= in its URL otherwise CB or even Joomla have no idea where to return them to. You'd need to be more specific as to where this is happening. If it's a 3rd party extension then you'll need to contact the developers of said extension. Joomla content articles and menu items should already behave properly.
