Save/Apply vs. Save/Save & Close was created by boyjahq
Why are the options in CB to Save or Save & Close while in CB Subs the options are to Save or Apply? It seems that Save or Save & Close are the Joomla 3 standards. As a website builder I have (sadly) become accustomed to this kind of inconsistency, but having to explain it over and over again to clients who use the tools that I recommend is becoming tedious. Is there a reason for this difference? If so, please help me to understand it. If there is NO reason, please add this to your feature request list.

CBSubs XML just hasn't been updated to use the new standard we're using in all our XML edit views. Save will save and redisplay edit (it's basically Apply). Save & Close will save and return to the rows view.
