Problem with Kunena Login was created by netizenuk
Hello,

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong here.
I have latest kunena and latest CB.
Kunena works ok if I sign up from the CB Login module however if I try to login from the Forums main page then there is nothing happening. It only shows the same page with the login (username/password) fields. No errors or indications of a wrong username or password (which I intentionally tried). Note that there is also no reCaptcha protection there.

What am I missing?

Thank you,
N

Ensure the Community Builder plugin within Kunena is enabled. Kunena maybe trying to login to Joomla instead of CB. Ensure debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration are enabled to expose any potential errors during your testing.

:(

Hugely frustrated with this. I have tried everything and I could not make it work or find any errors . I ended up reinstalling the site from scratch as the backup I had seemed to behave exactly the same.

My findings:
- If I disable all kunena-CB integration (in the kunena plugin) the login from kunena works. This of course is pointless as there is no integration with the CB profile etc.
- I then tried enabling the Kunena/CB integrations (in the kunena plugin) one by one and I realized that it works ONLY if I have all the integrations enabled apart from the ā€Enable Community Builder Pluginā€. Kunena/CB profiles are working ok in that mode. I can login from either the CB module or the kunena page.

Is this normal functionality or something else is the issue here and I canā€™t see it? Note however that when it is working, there is NO captcha protection in the kunena login. As I have not used Kunena before I donā€™t know if kunena is capable of having captcha protection for the login form. Does it? I have not managed to see a captcha image on the kunena login yet.

Fyi I have enabled default captcha protection in Joomla and it works on the contact form. I have also enabled the captcha details in the kunena security section and it is supposed to work for all (guests and registered users). Captcha on the CB login works ok with the internal code.

What I have not managed to do yet is to test the latest CB nightly build as I am having problems installing it but thatā€™s another non-related issue.

Thank you,

N

Quick update on this issue:

On a new site, using a commercial template which includes parts from a RocketTheme, everything works fine (with ALL options enabled in Kunena's CB integration plugin).
As soon as I install the antispam plugin of CB and enable the internal code image the above problem starts with Kunena.

If you're using CB AntiSpam with its login captcha then that's probably why it's not working. Kunena is manually generating the login form instead of just loading our login module (like our login page does). This means there's no way for the captcha to properly render there. Without captcha the login is working perfectly fine in my tests. I don't know if Joomla captcha can cause problems here, but you may want to try disabling it to see if that could be a cause.

To integrate Kunena with CB you only need to enable "Kunena - Community Builder Integration" in Components > Kunena Forum > Plug-in Manager.

As CB is not rendering or responsible for that login form I don't know what more to advise. You can disable the login usage entirely in Kunena and just use a CB Login module to avoid these issues all together though.

You mean by setting to NO the option "Enable Community Builder Login" in Kunena's CB integration plugin. Correct? Because only if I have it to NO then I an can use CB+ its internal captcha and login/logout from either Kunena page or the CB login module.
