CB nightly build wont install? was created by netizenuk
Hi all,

I am trying to install the nightly build for the first time. Currently I have the latest official version running.
Uploading via the browser the full zip (that contains all smaller modules) gives the following error:

====
Warning

Copy file failed

Package Update: There was an error installing an extension: com_comprofiler.zip

Error

Error installing package

====

This sort of error is usually a permissions error so I checked the folder permissions on Joona>System Info> Folder permissions. All show green except the configuration.php file

Checking my PHP settings I confirm that upload_max_filesize = 16M
I also confirm that my domain/public_html/tmp folder has 0755 permissions.

Any ideas why is this happening?

Hi,

I have no doubt that the NB works otherwise you wouldn't had it there for download.
The question was on any tips why is this happening and possibly where to look for.

Note that it does exactly the same on two different servers (however with the same hosting panel software).

Also why other components do install but this one doesn't? There is a difference somewhere.

Thank you.

Are you absolutely sure about your upload_max_filesize parameter?

PM me superadmin access and I will take a look.

Hi,

Yes, upload_max_filesize is well above the size of the file. Checked that many times.
In any case, can you please see this ticket as that was the reason for trying Nightly Build in the first place. The question needed to be answered here is 'What are the correct settings of Kunena's CB plugin in order to ensure full integration?' So far is only working with the conditions described in that ticket.

Meanwhile I am doing some further tests with the template I am using since the site is using a "quickstart" version of a template with many things installed. I will try with a new site with stock template and report back.

A copy error means it was uploaded, but the files couldn't copy from tmp. This is happening during Joomla install which CB doesn't have much control over and is often due to misconfigured tmp directory in Joomla global configuration or incorrect permissions on the tmp/ folder, components/ folder, or components/com_comprofiler/ folder. You may also want to try configuring the FTP settings in Joomla global configuration so Joomla can do FTP uploads.
