A suggestion because I just had the idea... why don't you cannibalise a good portion of CB subs and make it into a point system? Not too many changes needed and it would increase your portfolio (and would please me since I will not have to battle with a further system slowing down my fragile websites...).
You have already all the payments plug-ins, most SQL tables set up, stats etc..
We have a points fieldtype built into CB. You can use CB Auto Actions and its Field action to increment it based off various CB triggers. You can even increment it using CBSubs Fields. So a points system is possible, but you'll need to setup the actions. An official points system is unlikely to be implemented, but rather more triggers instead.
You could even setup a custom database table that has an explanation for the points being added then add points using a Query action to insert new rows. Then total the points or even output a table of those rows using CB Query Field. A lot of options available without having to develop a new plugin to do this.
