[SOLVED] Substitution of Tab

[SOLVED] Substitution of Tab was created by RobertBadoux
I am trying to put a facebook logo on a Tab.
I have done the following:

A text field with the facebook ID of the user
An HTML field with the facebook log and a link (with the facebook text field as substitution)
The Tab

Then I followed instructions:
Put [cb:usertab tab="##" user="#displayed" /] in the HTML field above the image -link
I put the right Tab number in there and moved the tab to a position not showing on profile. (as per instructions)
Didn't work.

I tried many different ways, searched the forums etc.
Can't find the solution.

Can someone help me?

The tab substitution is to substitute a tab into a field. If you already have a field for the Facebook display why do you need to substitute it from that tab to another instead of just moving the field? At any rate ensure you're substituting the correct Tab ID, which is found as the ID column to the far right in CB > Tab Management. The tab needs to be published, accessible, and the fields on it need to be set to display on profile.

Move the tab to a tab position that it can been accessed, check that it displays how you want, then move it to a not shown on profile position; now substitute it in. That's the best way to ensure it'll display as expected.

Thanks for your reply.
Maybe I wasn't precise as to what I am trying to do.
I have these profile tabs and I want one of these tabs to actually show a facebook logo. Once clicked on it, it should go to the user-displayed facebook page.

Is that possible?

Yes, create a Custom HTML field and supply whatever HTML you need. Custom HTML fields support substitutions so you can substitute in a Facebook ID or URL as needed. If you're using CB Connect though its field already links to a users profile if they've connected their account.

Yes.. I have that.
I have a textfield [cb_facebook] for the actual facebook ID (the name after www.facebook.com/ )

Then I have an HTML field with the facebook logo.
That logo is linked to facebook and I linked it to www.facebook.com/ [cb_facebook]
I tested it in my edit profile page and that part works fine, it opens up a new tab (like I wanted) with the facebook page of the user.
Now I want to put that logo as a TAB. so that when visitors click on this TAB (logo) it will go to the user's facebook page.

And that's where I get stuck.

The instructions on the Case Study part of this site didn't work. I would like to know how to do it.

You can't. A tab is a container for fields. It's not a field it self. It already has an <a element so adding one to the tab title would cause invalid HTML.
