Hello CB, I'm currently working on CBSubs then GJ (congrads) and I think I'm done developing. I have read the CBSubs manual and watched the 2 youtube vids, so I am up to speed as much as I can be. Needed plugins are installed, MAIN is installed. I'm getting stuck in and trying to decide how best to tackle my use case. Any ideas or advice appreciated.

If I just explained my current use cse as briefly as possible: ever member signing up gets Free Lifetime Subscription. This is fine but -

the first question is: in the subscriptions tab on profile, using rouned tamplate (or even the default) the layout is very messy - do I look at the php or css or both to fix?Thought it would be ok out of box, assume this is website templates fault?

I will use merchandise plans to sell e.g. email campaigns, activity stream promotions and featured blog posts. I spotted at the end of the cbsubs manual I can increase the limit set on cbgallery, assume this can happen for cbblogs too? - this is a great feature - may post later when setting this up.

So, my main usage is for selling banner space on my website. It seems good to use subscriptions as they have time attached. There are many different joomla articles, in menu's and sub-menu items where space is available. One example is country guides, say 25 countries, with banners of top, middle and bottom, right side joomla modules.

Plans are non-exclusive, user can have many. No upgrade options. Each is top level. I was going to ask if availibility could be inserted into the plan e.g. '2 of these left' (rotating banner). Now I'm thinking to display the modules as they would be with a banner inside but with my own content, givingan option to purchse through a link to the specific subscription plan e.g. 'This is available 200px x 700px' 'Click here to purchase' or whatever. It's purchased then it will fill with new content, so no more options to buy only for owner to renew.

The above seems ok, but the drawback is having to have sample content there as a necessity e.g. 3 banners when one could suffice with normal content taking up other space but option to take that space over. (Could be a solution none the less as it simplifies it) Yet sales opportunities also seem to go missing.

Thinking out loud here a bit. So maybe a menu labelled Advertising with sub-menu's - these link to an assortment of various plans available... But they are purchased for a year. If already purchased could maybe say 'currently occupied' somewhere, please contact us. Give purchaser first 6 months to renew otherwise can be pre-booked by someone else.

For now a menu item only wants to show the default 'free account plan', menu-item-type: plugin, cb paid subscriptions. Plan: 'plan number' (other than default) - nothing shows.

There's a few questions in there but any feedback on the usecase would be great, struggling to get any momentum going with it. Hopefully you guys like a good ol CBSubs usecase solution case!

Kind regards

Thanks for GJ congrats!
Are you a developer?

I have read the CBSubs manual and watched the 2 youtube vids, so I am up to speed as much as I can be. Needed plugins are installed, MAIN is installed. I'm getting stuck in and trying to decide how best to tackle my use case. Any ideas or advice appreciated.

The CBSubs manual has some use case descriptions.
Please note that we also offer consultance services in case you need it. See your Membership tab on your profile page - scroll to Professional services area.

I will try to address as much as possible in this post.

Guess you need to create a Free Lifetime plan and make it default then.

the first question is: in the subscriptions tab on profile, using rouned tamplate (or even the default) the layout is very messy - do I look at the php or css or both to fix?Thought it would be ok out of box, assume this is website templates fault?

The rounded template is something we developed for our personal use here on Joomlapolis and we offered it as an example that people can alter if they want. It might have issues on other sites/templates.

I cannot see the default template having any issues - guess a screenshot might be needed to understand the issue and maybe guess the cause. But yes, your Joomla template is most likely causing this - verify by switching to default Joomla template to see if issue persists or not.

I will use merchandise plans to sell e.g. email campaigns, activity stream promotions and featured blog posts.

Not sure if this is your best approach - there is no subscription duration associated with Merchandise plans. But if it works for your use case then ok.

I spotted at the end of the cbsubs manual I can increase the limit set on cbgallery, assume this can happen for cbblogs too? - this is a great feature - may post later when setting this up.

The manual example refers to the old CB Profile Gallery plugin, but it can be adjusted for the new CB Gallery add-on as it also has such a maximum items feature.
Nope, you cannot do something similar for CB Blogs as CB Blogs does not have such a feature.

Rest of your description and discussion is really too much to tackle on forums.
Somethings you might be able to do using a CB Query field that calculates the number of active subscriptions (to handle your X banners left concept) but others need to be investigated in more depth before I can personally offer any advise.

Thanks Nant. Nope not a developer, quick learner, stumbling my way through.

My snip tool doesn't work since windows 10 upgrade so I'll play with the css and maybe come back about it later if it doesn't fix. The 'your current subscription' basically doesn't act as a header and invades the main body. The whole right side of the container with the border-radius on it just cuts off.

Joomlopolis usecase seems to be the closest, none quite close enough to make it easy.

Guess all I can do is drive on and hope the solution presents itself along the way. Have never done a jquery so that's out. Generate some revenue and pay someone to implement a proper system - taking full advantage of the cbsubs capabilities looks like the most realistic option.

Kind regards
