Is there a "send/reset password" button/option that I can use from the backend (or frontend)?

On frontend there's the "Forgot Login?" link in your CB Login module. On backend Joomla provides forgot login links directly in the inputs (click the ? to the far right inside the input).

Sorry, I should be more clear.

As an admin or staff group member, I would like to be able to send a password reset to a client if they request one by phone. I don't want them to have to go through the "Forgot Login" procedure. So a button that I would click to resend a password to them would be ideal (possibly through a CB user list? Maybe an email send trigger with the pw as a CB substitution?).

Not sure what you meant by backend inputs? Which screen are you referring to?

Use the forgot login on the users behalf. It should ask for email and/or username. It will then send them an email with the new password. Aside from that we do not have a feature to do as you're wanting. I suppose you could change their password manually and send them an email with the new password though.

Is there not a way to trigger an email being sent from the front end? If so, I can then use CB substitutions to send them their password (as I would with the registration email template).

Alternatively, can I not use the mass mailer on the backend and put in their CB substitution password?

By the way, If I can make a feature request, maybe predesigned/preconfigured email templates for the mass mailer that would autofill the text area?

You can not substitute in the password except at locations of its creation. The reason for this is it becomes encrypted and it's not reversible. So forgot login, registration, and profile update (if password is changed) are the only times it is plaintext during POST.

Templates for mass mailer are planned in a later release, but it still wouldn't help with your current situation. Using forgot login on the users behalf is probably the best solution at this time.
