Are there plans to configure turning off Address and altering/removing the Location URL link (that currently goes to google maps)
An example of where this would be helpful is gaming sites, many online games have communities in virtual worlds and so links to google maps is a bad experience for the users.
Yes, will implement a parameter to shut off address usage for GJ Events (globally) in RC. There won't be a group by group parameter though as I'm trying to avoid group configuration bloat. Location will still be required, but I'm sure even for gaming communities you could put server information, etc..

So if in RC for example, someone puts in a server name as the location, will it still automatically link to google maps?
I remember having this discussion with Location in CB Activity and I believe you stated in a future release the URL will be customizable.
In CB GroupJive, will this be possible. So in the above server information example, if there is a site that showed server status, being able to customize the URL to redirect to the server status page would be nice.
I would expect, a single global URL Location redirect parameter to cover all plugins would work well for most.

If address usage is turned off, no; it won't link to anything.

I'll make the mapping URL a language string so you can change it to whatever you like by adjusting the language string for RC.
