[#5577] CB Blogs and User Groups was created by Joepvdsteen
Tried to find something on this on th eforum but cant find it, so here s the question

I create a category for blogs and set the permission on Super Users
But when I log in as a normal registered user and create a new blog, I still get the option to select the Catergory (which I set to Super User) inside the drop down list from the categories.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening ? So giving the registered users a different list than the Super Users ?

Thanks
Joep

You need to set the view access level for that category. I'm not sure what permissions you've set, but it only checks against view access level for the category. Example setup as follows

Blogs
- General (Public)
- Private (Special)
- News (Author)

If your issue persists please describe your category structure as I've done above and will investigate further.

I'm using the K2 system btw.
this is what I have: 3 blog articles
one is set to the special viewing persmission (EUC moderation view)

So it actually works inside the front end,
Registered users only see the two blog articles and not the EUC moderation view one
EUC moderation view users can see both the registered articles as well as the inspiration one.

Only when the registered user tries to make his own blog entry he will see the Inspiration category as well in his drop down

We're using K2s categoriesTree API to pull the category tree. Have added a bug ticket to investigate further.

Well K2 should be handling the access check, but maybe the categoryTree function just doesn't do one. Will know more when investigating that ticket.
