[SOLVED] Field value will not hold in edit or show on profile

Hello CB, hopefully you may be able to shed some light on this as I have tried numerous combinations.

I have 2 fields.

1. Establishment name 2. Position : both in Contact Info tab.

Both appear in registration but are conditioed to only appear with another field selection. Therefore they are not required.

1 works as intended. but 2 will show on profile edit but after update the value deletes itself (out of the visible edit value field anyway).

Side note: I also put both field values into a custom html field to show together in a different tab, using e.g. [cb:userdata field="cb_establishmentname" /]. When 2 deletes itself it still show sup here but disappears after a while.

I put 2's settings the same as 1, unpublished the custom html field, no good. Conditions used are: usergroup (hide) for all except the intended group to use it. and if not equal to 2 then hide registration and if equal to 2 (show): profile edit, registration and profile view.

Also 2 will not show as a field value in the Contact Info tab on profile view. (1 behaves correctly and does).

Any ideas, been at it a few hours now

Field conditional self is recommended usage instead of a Field conditional others usage. Sounds like field value resetting is triggering as the condition is failing in PHP. Note a field can not be conditioned multiple times and only the last condition applied to a field is relevant.

OK thanks, they were the settings at the time but I have tried other settings and none work, including having only usergroup as a condition (as it's only relevant to this one) i.e. set to 'hide' from all other registered usergroups, edit and view.

As 1 works no bother I think I will try to rebuild 2 (in case I changed the database field name previously) and also watch the conditions tuitorial again as I remember it mentioning there are two ways to condition fields one in itself and the other through the other field, I believe I know how to do each way but just to make sure.

Yap, that fixed it, made a new field. Never change the names cb_example but that's all I can think of, that would have caused it, as all other things were covered besides getting into database stuff.

Just that 1 worked and 2 didn't (exact same) I thought something bigger might be wrong plus the fact I just went through everything as a final check before testing, therefore I was concerned.
