text area does not accept 'comma' was created by hrffz
Hi, I added a field (type textarea)for users to input their interest. In the field validation 'Authorized input' I selected 'all strings /.*/'.

However, whenever there is a comma between words such as 'travel, cooking', when I click 'update' I got an error 'This input value is not authorized.' Other character I tried like '.', '&' or '!' to replace the comma, they were all updated fine.
Screenshot attached. Please advise.

That's a PHP side validation error, which is kind of strange. It certainly should allow commas. Edit your textarea field and within Parameters > Validation ensure you're not prohibiting commas with "Forbidden words in user profile edits".
