I had this issue before and thought that it was solved. It isn't apparently.

Joomla 3.4.6, CB Subs 2.0.12

My client has five membership levels. ACTIVE, PROVISIONAL, STUDENT, RETIRED, SPONSOR.

The fields for other membership levels not only show up in the main membership profile (ACTIVE) on the front end, but even though I've set the validation to be OFF when editing, the module is still demanding that an essay or file be filled in.

Even if I hide the field from the profile, for example, other fields like BUSINESS INFORMATION which should not show up or be part of the ACTIVE MEMBER profile, suddenly pop up.

What do I have to do to 1) make these incorrect fields disappear from the front end editing but also 2) make it so users are not required to validate a field that has nothing to do with them.

Screenshot attached.

Thank you,
Mark

You have that field marked required and that field is accessible to them, which means they will have to fulfill its validation of being required. You can hide fields based off a subscription using CBSubs Fields Tabs Protection, which sounds like is what you're needing to do since they're not relevant to their current subscription. You can hide them on registration based off plan selection by setting fields to hide under the workflows tab of your plans.
