Field related issue,

Hi,

As you suggest that if you want to some field in list but do'nt want to show on profile then you can give that in another tab which not visible.

but if tab is not visible then it not coming in edit page also

our requirement is:

1- want to show a field in list but don't want to show on profile page but it should come under profile edit tab.

2. how i can serch by user name ( first name formated name etc) because i m using formated name and it not having search ability .

3. How i can edit search funtion my own which function/file have code.

4. template how its working where its mail files.

I cannot confirm this.

Tabs positioned on Not for profile show positions appear just fine during editing.

Place the tab in a not shown on profile position, but you still need to ensure the fields on that tab are set to display on profile edit. Also ensure your tab is published and with ACL the user can access (e.g. Public).

Username is always used so just mark it searchable. The name fields are enabled based off the "Name Style" parameter in CB > Configuration > General. So for example set it to "First and Last Name" and you can now mark the first and last name fields searchable.

Edit what exactly? We do not support core edits and can not help you in regards to core edits.

I don't understand your question, sorry. Please clarify further.

I have many field in available in tab so i can hide tab . also if in additional tab i will have only one field and shown that on edit profile page then it not a good things. It should be functionality like we can choose different tabs for profile view and edit.

i asked about user name( first name and last name) not the username under list. I have not used first name or last name in user list and i select search field as first name and last NAME THEN these field is not coming under search criteria because its not available in list.

You need to place the field on a tab that's in a not shown on profile position.

Ensure "Name Style" within CB > Configuration > General is set to "First and Last Name". Then within CB > Field Management ensure the First Name and Last Name fields are marked searchable. Next edit your userlist and ensure the fields are displayed in a column of your userlist or your userlist is set to display all searchable fields or you've selected the specific fields for searching on that list.

That's not possible even with a template edit. The edit search process would need to be rewritten for that. Best I can suggest is install CB Search Bot then use Joomla search module to search for users for single input searching.

There's no need to. The canvas display has tab positions for every possible visible space available. Please review the canvas tab positions carefully.

I highly suggest reading through the CB 2.0 Primer Book carefully.
