Notify user when they are mentioned?

Notify user when they are mentioned? was created by neilmac500
I have CB Activity and CB Auto Actions working well on my site :)

Now that these are finished add-ons is it possible to them set up to notify a user that they have been mentioned (as in the attached photo for example)?

www.clubmotorhome.co.uk/members-chat.html

Member 'Brooksy' has joined, then I (NEILMAC) have welcomed them. I would like Brooksy to receive a notification that they have been mentioned, prompting them to look in again to see why.

At the moment users have to keep checking the page to see if anything is new that might relate to them.

If it is possible, how is it done - in nice and easy to understand instructions please?

Many thanks.

At this time, no. A notification for mentions isn't possible.

OK thanks.

Can I ask, other than giving a link to the user's profile what is the purpose of 'mentions'?

To mention them. The feature is basically self explanatory. It's no different than using someones name in a Facebook post or a users twitter username in a twitter post. It helps with navigating to the person you're mentioning. It's not a tag though. Tags actually can send notifications using CB Auto Actions.

Ah, OK. It sounds like it's 'Tags' that I need to be using instead then :)

Where do I, and what do I setup so that users will get notifications as in my original post (using tags, not mentions)

You can't tag in a comment. The tag has to be done in a status post it self. To send a notification on tag you'd need to configure CB Auto Actions to send an Email or PM on the after tag create trigger.
