Hello,
I've integrated Kunena with GroupJive because I want to implement Private Users Groups (including private forums).

I've tried to setup everything according to this (very out-dated in my opinion :) ) tutorial: www.joomlapolis.com/support/tutorials/117-integrations/18325-private-group-forums-with-groupjive-and-kunena

Almost everything works as expected except "Top level Kunena category" which is not visible for GroupJive groups members.

GroupJive group members can see corresponding Kunena category (automatically created together with GroupJive group) with posts, but Top level Kunena category is always hidden.

That means users cannot read group's forum posts from Kunena forum, but they have to read them via their User Profile page (using tab Groups/Forums).

Is it correct behaviour? According to tutorial all group members should see top level Kunena category as well...

Regards,
Martin

The top level category should have a public view access level. GJ category forums will then have their view access level set to the same as the GJ category it self. GJ group forums will only be visible and accessible if the user is active in that GJ group. They should be able to see their entire accessible forum list from Kunena.

The below video shows how to configure the GJ forum integration.

OK, thank you, it is working now.

Note: But we should set Community Builder (not Public) Access Control Type for Top Level Kunena Category according to tutorial.

That tutorial is extremely old. You need to use the video tutorial. We'll be archiving/deleting all our out of date tutorials when we launch our new site.
