[SOLVED] A "new tab" error was created by Henke_Carlsson
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK AT MY CRAZY TROUBLESHOOT.... WHAT WAS THE SOLUTION? YOU NEED TOO PUBLISH A %&¤#" FIELD TO THE TAB. EMPTY TABS DONT SHOW UP IN THE MENU!! I think i need some sleep right now!

If I just create a new tab in tab management and give it a display option and a position. It should automatically shows up if I publish it? right?

I tried to create a new tab under tab management. The tab saves. I checked the database and the tab is there. But it dont shows up on the page. I looked in the index.php. And the HTLM is not there. what can be the problem? I must have overrided the function. Any guess where I shuld start my troubleshoot? I can edit the older tabs I created a time ago and the HTML updates as it should.

Update:

I can create new modules without problems.

yesterday I installed groupjive and cb privacy. The tabs to this plugins shows and is fine! So the problem is just when I whant to create my own tab.

And I notice that I can create new menu tabs to joomlas main menu without problems. So the problem is just with the cb menu

Very strange..

I posted a post some days ago about that I wanted to create fields to plugin tabs. And got this answer:

"If you want to force fields on plugin tabs you need to edit those plugin tabs in _comprofiler_tabs database table and change their fields column from 0 to 1. This will let you place fields on them, but running tools check or updating the plugin will likely reset that value."

I did this. Can it be something with this? Dont just the solution, but can I have done some kind of mistake in the com_profiler_tabs table that can have made this problem? But I dont think so.Because the tabs updates & shows up in the database as it should.

Troubleshoot what I have tried so far in order:

1. It is nothing with the css
2. unpublished the cb plugins except: template, lang and core.
3. Unpublished every module
4. Unpublished every plugin in the joomla extension
5. Unpublished every cb field
6. Unpublished every tab
7. I had done some changes on the templates original index.php file. Changed it back to the original state.
