Can anyone suggest a way to change the background color for my "Main Menu" placed in position 1 in Prostar template Nagigation ? I tried editting template.css and added the following, but it is not working:
You'll need to right click and inspect element on it which will open the developer console of your browser and show you the HTML structure. From there you can see what classes are on the navigation menu and what styles are already being applied in addition as to where the styles are coming from. As for where to make your CSS changes yes you can add them directly to template.css as needed, but your changes will likely be lost when you update Joomla if you're modifying the default template.
