Make your color text field required and it should work fine. CB Conditional is capable of hiding required fields fine.

Sometimes it is just too easy!
Works just fine.
Worth mentioning; setting CB Conditional setting "Reset" to Enable clears the value from Other textfield when selecting another value than Other in the select list. Really nice solution!
