[SOLVED] renaming "group" and "groups" was created by Burnardo
Hi,
One of my websites needs a sitewide renaming for the wording "group" and "groups". The customer would like to use "team" and "teams", as a chosen wording.
I am using CB and GroupJive. Now especially GroupJive needs adjustments in order to create this change consistently.

One of the choices is to run through all the language files and rename these words in those instances.
But the effect is never completely sitewide and (of course) more problems arise when using updates.

How would I be able to solve this throughout and thoroughly.

Thanks for your time,
Burnardo

Well..., I think I have found the answer to my question.
First of all, the video tutorial nr.27 explains "CB Language Plugins Initial Concepts and Transifex".

This forms a nice base for the next tutorial nr.36 , which deals specifically with "CB Language Override plugin and how to use it".

Once you have gone through the recommended actions in the second video, (installing the experimental language-override-plugin and copying the needed files...) you can start inserting other text translations.

Now the only remaining item is, to find the correct string to translate, and put it in these newly created files.

Also, the search for the experimental CB language-override-plugin took me quite some time. There was a reply somewhere mentioning it would be "in the first post". As there was no further explanation, I had to zift through many posts in the forum, and finally found some hidden link to this file, in a completely different reply.
Unfortunately I would not be able to repeat the location here...

Hope this helps someone,
Burnardo

The language override tutorial can be found below.

Note due to plugin load order it's possible your language overrides may not take affect.

We are planning to add a backend interface to easily add new language strings to a language (including Default Language). The backend interface will basically generate an override file for languages which won't be lost on upgrades. For now however you need to manually add the new language strings to your CB language files or use a language override plugin.

Thank you, Kyle, for your answer,

The plugin load order is (as I gather) already mentioned as an important issue when installing the "language-override-plugin".

In my case I have made sure that it is at the bottom of my list of "user"-plugins.
Or... do you mean to say, it should be at the very last position of ALL plugins.
And... is there a simple way to make sure (or change it...) so that this is the case?

Thanks for your time,
Burnardo

Your ordering should work, but you likely won't be able to override GJ integration language strings. Core GJ language strings should override fine.

Hi Kyle,

Followed your advice with success. All words "group" and "groups" were replaced with team and teams, in order to follow my clients wishes.

It was possible to achive this with the language override, copying the files as needed and then fill them with the necessary override text.

Thanks,
Burnardo
