[SOLVED] all tabs are hidden was created by Burnardo
I am desperate. For unknown reasons, the tabs for logged-in member profiles, are not visible.
There seems no way to make any of them visible. Also the fields which are supposed to be shown within a tab are hidden.
Changing the template, to exclude possible template-oriented causes (display:none...), also does not show a difference.

I am looking for some sort of checklist to gradually follow and check conditions in order to get these tabs visible again.

Or a general "reset" to default values might be a solution, but I am sure there is no such a reset.

Which items are visible in a profile, when clicked...
- Canvas
- Last logged in time
- profile image

I know this all sounds weird but I seem to be lost.
Please try and guide me back to civilization.

Press F12 to open the browsers developer tools. Next click the Console tab. Now refresh the profile page. If you see fatal (red) JS errors then JS is erroring before the tabs can be parsed. If this is the case then likely something installed is breaking JS. This often is the template. Switch to default Joomla protostar template within Extensions > Templates then see if issue persists.

If the tabs HTML is missing entirely then the tabs aren't accessible. Ensure they public and published within CB > Tab Management. Next ensure CB Core within CB > Plugin Management is also public and published as it's responsible for all core fields.

Hi Kyle,

You work miracles...

Of course with my humble knowledge, it is a difficult job looking for the right cause of the problem.
In this case it was entirely caused by jquery.

Now I will have to dig in to use jquery in such a way that none of the involved extensions suffer from it and I get to use CB as it is supposed to.
Thanks for handing the right hint.
Burnardo

P.S. In my case it was not caused by the template of my own design. Switching to Protostar (as one of the trouble-shooting methods) revealed the same problem. So it must be caused by another extension. But now I am on the right track at least.

Typically it's something installed that's rendering on the page if it's not the template. So could be a module for example. Best way to test is to disable all modules on CBs page to confirm if it's a module. If it isn't then it's likely a 3rd party system plugin, which you'll need to test by disabling 3rd party system plugins in Extensions > Plugins. If issue still persists it could be a 3rd party CB plugin. Basically it's a scenario of disable, test, rinse repeat until the cause is found.

Thanks Kyle,

In the meantime I was able to sort it out.

For some time I have been using the extension (plugin) jQuery Easy. It helps me setting the right version of jquery for needed parts. It diminishes the trouble that I otherwise would have to get things working.

Now I was completely forgotten that by switching to SSL on this website I would also have to change the settings of this plugin to the use of https.
So I am quite embarrased to tell you that by changing this setting for the plugin, everything worked again as it should.

But your help got me on the right track to sort out my own mistakes.
So, thank you nonetheless, and hopefully it will help others.

Regards,
Burnardo
