[SOLVED] CB Login Module and Offline Website

8 years 6 months ago - 8 years 6 months ago #280279 by roger milla
Hi,

I want my website (Joomla 3.5.1 and Community Builder Pro 2.0.14) to remain permanently offline (invitation only).

Once connected, the Community Builder Login Module works fine.

But I want it to be displayed on the Offline Page; instead of the Joomla native Login Module.

Mainly because the Offline Page Joomla Login Module doesn't display the following buttons:
-forgot login
-forgot password
-register

I tried to patch the "offline.php" file up (in templates/system) with php taken from the "mod_cblogin" folder, but doesn't work.

I'm not very knowledgeable in php unfortunately..

How can I do?

Thanks

I suggest using view access levels to protect content of your site and set the CB login page as your home page. This way the only think they'll see when viewing your site is that login page as all your menu items, modules, etc.. should be set to Registered.

You won't be able to use CB Login for the offline page. Component access is entirely blocked by Joomla except for that offline login page. I don't see a way to do that without major changes to Joomla.

Thanks.

I pretty much came to the same conclusion earlier today.

Then I realised it's also possible to customize the Offline Joomla Login Module, using:

- font icons
- buttons

After all it's what Joomla developpers did on the admin back-end.

But, as you said, this latter alternative may recquire Jquery and other stuffs to work.
Still having a go at it..

Ultimately, your way will probably be easier to implement and more safe.

Case solved.
