CB Connect - LinkedIn imported usernames with "@" on the activity steam

8 years 6 months ago #280337 by lucerne.horley
Hi there,

Is there a way to remove spaces from imported usernames from LI or some other strategy you that I have not thought of? The problem is that LI usernames are imported with their spaces e.g. "Joe Bloggs", rather than "JoeBloggs"/"Joe.Bloggs".

The reason I ask that we would like the possibility to "@userx" in a post to make sure that that activity stream thread appears on userx's stream. It's kind of twitterish to flag things between people, etc. But this would fall over with a space in the username...

Thanks!

R.

CB Activity @ linking works with spaces in names or usernames fine. As long as it matches a users full name or username it'll work. So if I've "@Demo User" and there's a user with the name or username "Demo User" it'll match them fine.

For CB Connect yes you can format the username on the Registration tab of each provider within CB Connect parameters. Specifically see the "Username Format" parameter.
