[SOLVED] CB and registration emails was created by cslane
Can anyone help me with this issue? I do not get admin emails, and I cannot simulate a sign up using my aol email. I have my Joomla registration turned off and and CB specs set to CB registration only. Years ago I tried CB and I remember leaving it because of this sort of issue. I'm trying to give another chance. There must be something on my end that's not right but I can't figure out what it is.

You need to first make sure emails are even working at all for your site. Use Joomlas built in mass mailer to send your self an email (use an external domain to test for mailer problems, such as a gmail address). If that worked then repeat with CBs mass mailer in CB > User Management.

If both tests worked then you likely have a configuration problem regarding moderator emails. Within CB > Configuration > Moderation ensure the Moderators View Access Level is configured to Super Users (if the view access level exists) or Special. Next set Send Moderators Email to Yes. Finally edit your user within CB > User Management and ensure you're configured to receive moderator emails. All of this is the default though and the only way it couldn't be set to this is if you or another administrator changed it.

I'm having a similar issue. I've sent a "Test Email" from Joomla's Global Configuration's Server tab, and it goes through... so my emails are getting out.

But when I attempt to make a user's account and have "email confirmation" set in CB's Configuration > Registration tab, the new user does not receive a confirmation email with a validation link.

I'm certain I've done something wrong on my end, but I've run out of places to look. krileon's suggestions didn't apply to my case. Any more suggestions?

Additional information:

I added text to the CB:Configuration > Registration tab's "Pending Email Subject" field to activate that function, and I did receive an email with the appropriate subject stating the account is pending approval. CB registration is sending "Pending Approval" emails to the proper account, but the registration confirmation email fails to send.

I am at a loss as to what to try next.

The Pending email is the confirmation email. You should have [CONFIRM] substitution in it (by default is a part of the default language string). When clicking it it'll confirm the account and send the Welcome email. The process is a little different if you've admin approval enabled as well.

That was what I was missing. I thought those fields only applied to registrations when using Admin Approval.
