Hi,

Sorry - still can't get this to work. Did all the override language stuff and put the following in the new file:

'GROUP_INVITE_MESSAGE' => "You have been invited to join the group [group_name] by[user_name] Message from Group Owner:   [message]Please login to your TalkStor account to accept or reject this invite."

All the text comes out correctly, but the [group_name] and [user_name] placeholders are still links. Where are they defined/constructed?

No, it depends on each individual site. You can substitute in any of your fields within CB > Field Management by Field Name. See the below for substitution usage information.

Please ensure you've followed the steps below exactly.

If you're using a 3rd party language plugin like French or something then you need to be sure your plugin language files were supplied to it instead.

Hi,

The substitute language file is working correctly because if I edit it, the format of the invite email changes to suit.

This is the raw format of the email the invitee receives:

You have been invited to join the group Test Group 2 by robgratt .

Message from Group Owner: 1111111111111111111111111111111

Please login to TalkStor to accept or reject this invite. NOTE: This email was automatically generated from Talkstor ( talkstor.com ).

As you can see, the group name 'Test Group 2' and user 'robgratt' are displayed correctly, but are followed by URLs. Where do they come from?

Thanks for your perseverance with me,

Rob

Hi,

I've attached a file that show what it looks like - gj1.png

I don't know, that's not even how the default language string displays unless your email client is altering it. If you use [group_name] it will only be the name of the group with no URL. If you use [username] it will only be the username of the user with no URL. If it's not adjusting to your changes then your language string is not taking affect.

This means your language string should become the following.

Code:
'GROUP_INVITE_MESSAGE' => "You have been invited to join the group [group_name] by [username]!\n\n[message]",
