All plugins displays have a CSS class surrounding just that plugins output. For CB GroupJive the CSS class is cbGroupJive (it's basically always this formula of the plugin name). You can also add your own CSS class within GJ > Configuration > Parameters > General. To make an override GJ template navigate to the below location.
Now create a new folder to be your new template (e.g. "mytemplate"). Next add override.css and place your override CSS in it. Finally within GJ > Configuration > Parameters > General select "mytemplate" as the template. It'll load your custom CSS file and fallback everything else to the default template.
