I installed the CB-Search plugin and activated it but the joomla search does not find the real names of registerred users (firstname lastname). It finds the users by city but not by their names.
Firstname and Lastname are added in CB-Search-Plugin preferences (just like city). They are both market as "searchable" in field-propertys.

In my userlist: www.gewaltfrei-info.de/gfk-trainer/userslist/2-gfk-trainer-trainerinnen-im-deutschsprachigen-raumhttp://www.gewaltfrei-info.de/gfk-trainer/userslist/2-gfk-trainer-trainerinnen-im-deutschsprachigen-raum i can only choose "formatname" to display. Ther is no "firstnam" or "lastname" in the dropdownlist available.

Please help me out, that joomla-search find my users by their real names too.

It can't search firstname and lastname unless those fields are published and they're only published based off what you've "Name Style" set to within CB > Configuration > General, which you'd need to set to "First and Last Name Fields". Have retested this and appears to be working fine in my tests. As long as the field is accessible, selected to be searched, it should be searched fine.

Note this is a Joomla search module plugin. It is not a smart search module plugin. Please ensure you're using the correct Joomla search module or page.

Hi Kyle,

thanks for your quick reply.

If i now published "firstname" and "lastname" in profile-view and realise that joomla now finds the profiles.
But if i search after Firstname Lastname (both names together) there are no search results anymore!

Please test it on: =cb] www.gewaltfrei-info.de/component/search/?searchword=Vivet%20Alevi&ordering=newest&searchphrase=all&areas [0]=cb

If you search after "Vivet Alevi" you find nothing in profiles (but there is a profile named Vivet AleviVivet Alevi )

A search after "Vivet" finds the correct profile.
Can you give me a hint how i can do it that both searches finds the profile?

(Actually i don't want to show "firstname" and "lastname" this way in profile-views. I only need the formatname in one line.)

If you can search it on a userlist then you can search it with CB Search Bot. That's the easiest way to have a field configured properly for searching. This works perfectly fine on our demosite below.

Firstname and Lastname:
demo.cbdemosites.com/addons/cb-search-bot?searchword=Susan%20K .

Firstname Only:
demo.cbdemosites.com/addons/cb-search-bot?searchword=Susan

For your site search with "any" not "all" and it works fine to match firstname OR lastname. Otherwise the field needs to contain both the firstname and lastname and the only field that does is the Name field so you'd need to use single name field instead of firstname or lastname for that case. This is just how Joomla search functions. The default is the results must contain all of the words supplied instead of any of the words supplied.

Hi Kyle.

Yes, i know this. The thing is, you can find it on the userlistyou can search and find it on the userlist

But you cannot find it with the joomla search. And if i use single name field instead of firstname or lastname in CB configuration, joomla finds nothing at all.

So what i miss In the CB-Bot plugin-options (search area) is something like "name" or "formatname". Now there is only "firstname" an "lastname" available.

What can i do? Could you please take a closer look?

It searches the field you selected. If you have "Firstname Lastname" as your search criteria and you've the radio option set for "all words" then that means it's doing the following.

Does "Firstname Lastname" equal "Firstname" ? No
Does "Firstname Lastname" equal "Lastname" ? No

This means no user can be found. If you select "any words" it'll work as follows with "Firstname Lastname" search criteria.

Does "Firstname" equal "Firstname" ? Yes
Does "Lastname" equal "Firstname" ? No
Does "Firstname" equal "Lastname" ? No
Does "Lastname" equal "Lastname" ? Yes

It will find the user. If you need to match "Firstname Lastname" with "all words" then you need to search against the Name field and you can't search against name field unless you've "Name Style" set to "Single Name Field".
