500 error on CBSubs plan edit! was created by mikerotec
Walk-through testing after CB migration...

/administrator/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=editPlugin&cid=500&table=plansbrowser&action=editrow&tid=1&cbprevstate=b3B0aW9(...) gives 500 error. Same with all current plans, cannot edit. Also get 500 error if I try to make a new plan...

Checking logs in a minute to look for an exact PHP error...

OK, this looks like the one:
Code:
[Tue Aug 09 11:52:48 2016] [error] [client 192.168.199.61] PHP Fatal error: Cannot access private property cbPluginHandler::$_pluginGroups in /var/www/html/redacted/html/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbgroupjive/cbgroupjive.class.php on line 3668, referer: http://redacted/administrator/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=editPlugin&cid=500&action=showtable&table=plans&cbprevstate=b3B0aW9uPWNvbV9jbredacted93JnRhYmxlPXBsYW5zYnJvd3Nlcg%3D%3D

This seems odd, as I have never used CBgroupJive (before migration) , and it's not currently published... ( though it looks like CB somehow installed it by default, though I didn't ask for it to be installed)

Is this a bug somewhere or am I obligated to publish CBgroupjive as a prerequisite for CBSubs??

.... UPDATE....

Well, just for the heck of it, i PUBLISHED the "CBSubs GroupJive" CB plugin and cleared all the joomla caches- but it makes no difference. I still get 500 and the log shows the identical error message ( as above)

Ensure CBSubs is completely up to date. This includes any of its integrations. If you don't have GJ installed then uninstall CBSubs GroupJive.

hmm.. we only have ONE integration that I know of (Kunena). I have upgraded Kunena, and its integration looks to be OK:
Code:
Kunena - Community Builder Integration Site Plugin 4.0.11

But its weird, it seems the old CommunityBuilder 1.9.1 component is still enabled alongside of the new one?
I think there must have been a big migration glitch!

I'm going to roll back the DEV server and redo the migration from scratch tomorrow...

It sounds like your migration was interrupted. It's best to disable anything that integrations with CB then disable all CB plugins except core plugins. This includes CBSubs system plugin in Extensions > Plugins. This should ensure only the minimum core CB will ever get loaded to make migration as smooth as possible. Once that's done update all your CB plugins to latest releases then begin turning things back on.

OK, this is getting obscure - how do I know what are "the core CB plugins"? Do they have a lock icon on them or something?
(Some kind of checklist would be most excellent...)

The migration reported all green lights SUCCESS! Shouldn't it have reported some sort of error if it was interrupted?

Maybe this went to hell because I installed with the package builder (Which ran the whole thing as one big rollup package)??

Can you please recommend two downloads instead?
One that gives me ALL of the CB migration, and a second one that gives me ALL of the CBsubs?
Perhaps installing them separately in correct order will make it go in cleanly?

We have ONLY ONE 'CB Integration' and that is Kunena ( v4.01)... I had disabled the "Kunena CB Integration" plugin. Are you suggesting that I should also have disabled the entire Kunena package in its entirety?

Core plugins are any plugins you didn't install. They're included with CB. The list of core plugins are as follows at this time.

Default language (English)
Default
CB Articles (CB 2.x)
Private Message System
CB Core
CB Menu
CB Connections
CB Forums (CB 2.x)

The migration reported all green lights SUCCESS! Shouldn't it have reported some sort of error if it was interrupted?

Just because the install was successful doesn't mean data all migrated completely. Install does not fail for migration issues as there's not point because by time migration starts there's no going back.

Maybe this went to hell because I installed with the package builder (Which ran the whole thing as one big rollup package)??

No, package installer works perfectly fine and runs through each installer 1 by 1 as if installed 1 by 1.

Can you please recommend two downloads instead?
One that gives me ALL of the CB migration, and a second one that gives me ALL of the CBsubs?
Perhaps installing them separately in correct order will make it go in cleanly?

Install order from our package installer is already handled correctly. The major issue that's known with CBs migration is if CB 1.x API gets loaded during the migration it may cause issues. For latest CB and CBSubs builds you can just use their download buttons on the below product pages.

www.joomlapolis.com/community-builder
www.joomlapolis.com/addons/cb-paid-subscriptions

I however suggest just making a package with the plugins you need from our downloads page below. It's up to you.

www.joomlapolis.com/downloads

The product pages above are just downloading the Presets, which you can find directly below. If a plugin has multiple extensions (e.g. few CB plugins, a module, etc..) the preset installs the complete package (this is noted in their description).

www.joomlapolis.com/downloads/presets

We have ONLY ONE 'CB Integration' and that is Kunena ( v4.01)... I had disabled the "Kunena CB Integration" plugin. Are you suggesting that I should also have disabled the entire Kunena package in its entirety?

No, you need to turn off CBSubs as well as its Joomla plugin will cause CB 1.x API to load during the migration which may cause problems.

Your issue may not have anything to do with migration if your initial migration went ok with no errors. If it did then update any remaining plugins you have installed and see if everything is working ok. For example that error is being thrown by GJ. Simply update GJ and see if your issue persists.
