I am in the process of updating my J2.5.19 website on my laptop localhost (wamp64). I have successfully updated to J2.5.28 and am now trying to update Community Builder from CB1.9.1 to CB2.0.14, before updating to J3.6.2, but have run into a problem.
Prior to attempting to update to CB2.0.14, I unpublished all CB plugins and CBSubs as per the instructions in the CB 2.0 Primer document. See below for the full list of CB plugins I unpublished prior to the CB update attempt.
When I go to Extension Manager and Install 001_pkg_communitybuilder_2.0.14+build.2016.07.19.01.59.29.f1d8bdbed.zip I get the following message:
-Failed to uninstall self. Please uninstall manually.
I then went to Extension Manager - Manage and successfully uninstalled Package Installer manually.
I tried Extension Manager - Install 001_pkg_communitybuilder_2.0.14+build.2016.07.19.01.59.29.f1d8bdbed.zip again, but get the same error:
-Failed to uninstall self. Please uninstall manually.
When I check Extension Manager - Manage, Package Installer is magically back again! This happens every time I try installing the CB2.0.14 package.
I have Error Reporting at Maximum and no errors are showing.
What have I missed?
Thanks,
Philip

CB 1.x to CB 2.x is not an upgrade. It is a migration and with that comes all the problems of a migration. Meaning lost settings, possible errors, incompatibilities, etc.. Revert to a backup, clone your site, then attempt to migrate the clone without Package Installer; to do this unzip and within extensions/packages/ install the zip file there as it's the CB Joomla package directly.
