I have a national site and used GroupJive to create categories for each state, so 50 of them.
Then I added 6 groups under each state (replicated X 50!)
A registered user joins one or more of these groups.
Before the site is populated with users I want to make sure I am doing this right. I assume I need to setup Joomla user groups for the supervisory members of each state that will receive and approve or disapprove articles submitted, photos uploaded, etc. by registered users of that group. (Director, editor, moderators) I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this. Do I create a parent that has the correct permissions and then add all 50 states under that and then the separate groups underneath that.
Example:
Author
Alabama (state director)
Group 1 (group moderator)
Group 2, etc.
I'm trying to divide up the workload appropriately also resulting in the correct notifications to the right person.
Could sure use some help from the "Joomla Masters". Thank you
I think I just posted a "duh" question. I was looking at GroupJive again and all I have to do is assign the registered user (that will need to approve certain items before being posted) as the owner of that group. I don't know why I thought I had to do that outside of GJ.
However, I would like to know if by giving them ownership of that group, where does that put them exactly in the ACL?
At least I hope I'm right. I'd still like some input
CB GroupJive has absolutely nothing to do with ACL. I'm unsure of why this confusion is continually made, but will be strongly considering renaming the plugin in the future. Making them an owner of a GJ group doesn't change their ACL in any way. They just become that GJ groups owner and can manage the group as well as its content.
