The language string in the attached screenshot seems to be coming from Community Builder and/or CB Subs, because the Joomla default string that is similar says "...authorised to view...". Where can I find that string to modify the header and the message, please?

The first part is Joomlas JERROR_ALERTNOAUTHOR language string. Joomla outputs it when a permission check fails. I've no idea where the "Please login and try again" is coming from though. Within Extensions > Languages > Overrides you can search for that string to see if it'll find the language key for it in Joomla.

As I mentioned in my original post, this one isn't the Joomla language string. JERROR_ALERTNOAUTHOR says "... not authorised to view...".

Joomla spells authorize with an "s" and uses "view" instead of "access".

Also, the page posting the error is the cblogin page. Is this possibly coming from CB Subs?

I searched the backend language strings thoroughly before seeking support.

We do not have a "You are not authorized to view this resource". However, K2 and AcyMailing both appear to have those errors with the language keys K2_ALERTNOTAUTH and ACY_NOTALLOWED. Could be coming from AcyMailing when it attempts to auto subscribe someone to a newsletter?

Note issues during login, registration, and profile updates are not always an issue with CB. Normal Joomla events fire for all of those so 3rd party system plugins can easily interfere with any of those behaviors.

The message is "You are not authorized to *access* this resource." Not "view".

And this message is shown on a page when protected content access is attempted, and a login form is displayed with the message.

I have no idea where that's coming from, sorry. It does not exist in CB, Joomla, K2, AcyMailing, or any of the other extensions on my Joomla install. It could be a generated language string where parts of it are put together to form a single string, but I've no idea. CBs not authorized error is UE_NOT_AUTHORIZED which is "You are not authorized to view this page!".

And this message is shown on a page when protected content access is attempted, and a login form is displayed with the message.

CBSubs doesn't show login on protect, but shows a plans selection page to subscribe and it would say "A membership is needed for access" unless the parameter was changed. If it's on attempt to access a menu item the user has no access to then that's entirely handled by Joomla. If you suspect it's CBSubs doing it then disable CBSubs and see if issue persists. If it doesn't then my guess is it's a parameter you've set within one of your plans or in CBSubs settings. If it does then it's probably something else installed (disable non-core Joomla system plugins 1 by 1 to see if issue goes away).
