CBSubs doesn't show login on protect, but shows a plans selection page to subscribe and it would say "A membership is needed for access" unless the parameter was changed. If it's on attempt to access a menu item the user has no access to then that's entirely handled by Joomla. If you suspect it's CBSubs doing it then disable CBSubs and see if issue persists. If it doesn't then my guess is it's a parameter you've set within one of your plans or in CBSubs settings. If it does then it's probably something else installed (disable non-core Joomla system plugins 1 by 1 to see if issue goes away).And this message is shown on a page when protected content access is attempted, and a login form is displayed with the message.
