[SOLVED] CB Login - Redirect to https://

[SOLVED] CB Login - Redirect to https:// was created by flycoopfly
When I log in at the non-secure version of the website, it redirects to my profile on the secure version of the site.

In CB Configuration, the default value is set (index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=userprofile).

What would be the best way to redirect to a user's profile, but not "https://"?

Thank you.

UPDATE: I did have "Encrypt Login Form" checked. When I unchecked that it redirected to the user profile without https.

Is it possible to encrypt the login form, but redirect to non-secure? Thank you.

With no domain specified it'll use whatever the current domain is for the URL. Since you supplied it beginning with index.php it'll prepend the HTTPS domain the user is currently at. Now a days though you really need to make a choice of HTTP or HTTPS. Going back and forth security wise is no longer acceptable (users and browsers alike do not like this). Personally if you've an SSL certificate you should utilize it and just stay in HTTPS permanently.

Thanks for the great information. I will go ahead and encrypt the login form and keep it all https across the board.

Question:
If someone has a bookmark, favorite, or page history that leads them to the "http://domain/component/comprofiler/login.html" address it will display a "You are not authorized to view this page!" error.

What is the best way to forward that URL to the "https" URL for that page?

Best way to force http to https is a redirect in your htaccess file. Joomlas "Force HTTPS" parameter in Joomla global configuration under the Server tab may also work.

Thanks for the great support.

The "Force https" in Joomla Global Configuration seems to work just fine. Now when I go to " domain.com/component/comprofiler/login.html it redirects to "https" and does not display the error message.

You can mark this one as resolved. Thank you!
