Utilizing GJ like meetup.com?

Is it possible to utilize GJ to operate like meetup.com for social groups where the organizer signs up and creates a group or up to 3 separate groups at a biannual/annual cost? Then the organizer after creating the group can create events that members who join that group can RSVP for. There can be a limit for RSVP's and a waiting list. Also the organizer can charge $$ per event and/or an annual charges to members and have it go into his account ie. paypal. The events can allow people to comment and connect for things such as carpooling, potluck items, etc. After an event allow member rating (commenting venue and star rating of event) and photos/videos to be posted.

It seem that to function like meetup.com GJ would have to have "Invite, Events, Files, Photos, and Video's" under groups for better organization/categorization ?

I'm utilizing SobiPro on this site for a directory and they have a template that allows for packages (ie. bronze, silver, gold). I was wondering if I could use that to allow organizer/member creation, but I don't think it utilizes Joomla/CB user db which at this point I'm not sure it's necessary, so please advise if you think you have a solution?!?

No, it can't be used like meetup. Meetup has a specific design in mind to be used for event management primarily. GJ is not an event manager. It's a community group manager (like groups on Facebook). It has no features for users to monetize GJ Events. You can of course limit certain functionality to a subscription using CBSubs, but that's basically the extent of it. GJ also does not have any rating feature, but I suppose commenting could just be done by using the GJ Wall integration.
