video links in groupjive

its straightforward to embed a youtube video using the link button in the post:



however I just bought downloaded groupjive, the buttons do not appear,



and a video just appears as a link



am I missing something?

Enable Links within CB Activity. Looks like all the extra functionality is disabled.

I see - the demo site is a bit confusing then - since the functionality of cb_activity and cb_groupjive isn't delineated - i thought i was demoing groupjive whereas the functionality of embedded video etc is actually a cb_activity feature (and not available in groups)

Ah, yeah at this time GJ Wall is basically a very basic CB Activity stream. It does not have all of that functionality. GJ 4.0.0 will be outputting an actual CB Activity stream however, but it'll be awhile longer before GJ 4.0.0 is released.

thanks for the update - its not something that will happen on the back of the cb_activity 4.0 update - i was wondering if the update blogged about today would solve the issue

As the project I'm doing with GJ has a reasonable lead time, wondering if you have an idea/timeline for GJ 4 release?

Once CB Activity 4.0.0 is released I'll begin work on GJ 4.0.0. I don't have a timeframe for this though. I hoped CB Activity 4.0.0 would be done before end of this month, but that's unlikely. Probably needs a good 1-2 more weeks (assuming no major complications or design changes) of development as am on the "home stretch" so to speak.

GJ 4.0.0 should be shortly after that, but I do need to prepare minor CB Gallery, GJ, and CB Auto Action releases to update their CB Activity compatibility. So will probably start GJ 4.0.0 a week after CB Activity 4.0.0 releases. I expect GJ 4.0.0 to probably take 1-2 months of development time and testing. It has the same API structure as CB Gallery so the ground work for its development is basically already there.
