Plan upgrade proposed when accessing protected content...

7 years 6 months ago #293271 by Strategisto2da
Hi,

Right now I have 3 levels of content that are accessible based upon membership level. When somebody attempts to access content that is not part of their membership, they should be presented with upgrade options that will allow them to access this content. My current set-up kicks them out to my public home page, where they then have to log back in, in order to continue using the content, but does not propose a plan upgrade.

How do I set up this redirect so that it is not redirecting to the public home page but to a proposed upgrade subscription plan?

(PS: So, when I went to write this post, I was told that I did not have the right membership (I had not renewed) to access this forum, and I would need to renew/upgrade to a new plan. So I did. I need to do the same on my web site.)

In order for the CBSubs protection to work as you're wanting the content needs to be entirely publicly accessible. So if it's a Joomla article for example ensure the article, its category, and if you've a menu item for it are all set to public. CBSubs should then control access and present a subscription to the user to access the content.

Ok, so I set all of the Joomla access controls for article, module, menu to "public".

Then to control "access to content" I use "CMS Content access depending on subscription:" under "Integrations"?

Yes. You can adjust what part of the content it protects as well (e.g. entire article, read more only, etc..) within CBSubs > Settings > Integrations > Content/Extensions using "Still show intro text for articles" parameter.
