Add a new language to a plugin was created by fede312
I use a different Joomla installation for the Spanish language.

I've already installed the languages plugin and the language plugin ES-es.
I'm also aware of the overides, as a matter of fact I did some minor overides,
but when it comes to a whole plugin I would rather use a new translation file.

How do I add a new language to a plugin?
I've created a new language.php file for GroupJive,
in components --> com_comprofiler --> plugin --> user --> plug_cbgroupjive --> language

I've copied the file language.php in the folder default_language, I've translated the file to Spanish
Then I've created a new folder called es-es, and moved the new language.php file to that folder.

What else do I have to setup for the system to see the file?

The language folders in the plugin are for defaults. Do not add anything there or modify the files there. Language plugins are separate installed plugins. You can download a language plugin below.

www.joomlapolis.com/localization

You can then freely modify its language files, which you'll find at the below location.

components/com_comprofiler/plugin/language

Beyond that I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do, sorry.
