Hiding e-mail address

I'm trying to setup a new registration form, and we want to use e-mail address as the username. As it seems you can't remove either the Username or E-Mail fields, I've set these up to say:

Username = E-mail Address
E-mail = E-mail Address Confirmation

The problem is that I can't remove the icon saying 'these will be visible in your profile'. We do not want e-mail address to be visible in user profile.

Is there a solution or alternative method to use?

Within CB > Field Management set Username to not display on profile edit or registration (you can not unpublish it). Then in CB > Configuration > User Profile set "Username Fallback" to "Email Address". That should do what you're wanting.
